Does a family member who is a live-in caregiver have to pay rent?

My 90 year old mom has Alzheimer's. I have been her live-in caregiver since 2010. The landlord, who is my brother's wife I s now trying to evict me. Does she have grounds, since I am not a tenant? My mom was not capable of putting the utilities in her name, so I processed applications in my name for them. I am responsible for paying all of these bills as part of my caretaker responsibilities because my mother does not have the capacity.

The arrangements are up to the family. I would not pay rent. If someone tried to charge me rent, I would simply tell them I would get my own place and other arrangements would have to be made for care. How do your brother and SIL propose to provide for your mother's care if SIL evicts you?
