My husband almost seems normal again after his hip surgery. Is that normal or is it just a stage of Dementia?

He was a zombie 4 months before his broken hip, now he seems normal after hip surgery

Perhaps he had uncontrolled pain or perhaps he was on heavy duty pain meds, either one could have effected his behaviour.

Perhaps the pain from his bad hip made him worse and he no longer has the pain? Perhaps the anesthesia had an affect? My understanding is that dementia fluctuates. Some days are better than others. Have you spoken to his neurologist about the improvement? Regardless, enjoy this time.
