Regarding VA Aid and Attendance, what I am reading says veteran not eligible if did not serve during wartime.

My husband served after January 1955, so looks like he is not eligible. Anyone have more info on this?

Ah yes, pamstegma, I'd forgotten that that thing in Korea was a conflict, altho' how is the ordinary person supposed to know the difference between a war, a conflict, and hostilities? The lines are blurred, aren't they. The Korean conflict substituted for the war in Viet Nam in Mash, the TV series.

Best just to ask the VA about that facet of eligibility, as well as other requirements.
Don't give up-I understand the application can be made without a lawyer.

When my husband and I called, they told him right off that he did not qualify because he did not serve at least one day during a war.

These rules must be open for changes because what is war, if it is not an officially declared war, but the vet served in active duty in a war zone-or whatever....
