What happens to me if Mom dies first when I live with her but the house is in her name and my brother's name?

Mom has 6 kids. I have been living with her for 6 years since both our husbands died. She put one kid on her bank,a different one on her car(which has already caused problems since that kid now has a tax lien she can't renew the tags)And a different one on the house. I pay rent and help her out with shopping, grass cutting etc..She is able to get around pretty well. I'm not real close with any of my siblings, so my question is-if she goes first, I guess I just move out and let the chips fall where they may?

Can you speak with your Mom about this? Since she left something to everyone, what are you getting? Does she realize that all assets are not created equal? A car has a different value than a house, for example. But in the end, it is her assets and she can distribute as she pleases. If your rent contribution is less than the going rate, say a prayer of thanks and begin to save in anticipation of your need to find a new home once she passes. If your rent + other contributions are greater than fair market value, you really need to have a heart to heart with Mom.
Is there a Will? Health care proxy?

Try to get your name added to the title.

You will learn the lesson the hard way otherwise. N when the dust settles, you will have no part of that house and be forced to move so brother can take it and/or sell it.

You have to protect yourself in this. If she will not do that immediately..you stop paying he bills. Move and take care of yourself.
