Mom lies down all day.

An adjustable bed might help her rest better. It sounds like she is not getting good comfort lying down. Get the better mattress, one that is not so firm, to avoid bedsores.

My mom does the same. She does pop in every other hour to see what I'm watching on tv but then goes away mumbling it's too cold in the room. A couple times a day she'll stalk me for Tylenol (which I've confiscated from her) or point to a spot on her leg saying it's sore so she's going to turn off her fan. It's our daily ritual.
