My mother has been diagnosed with dementia and Alzheimer's but has been of pretty sound mind except for the last month. Every time an OT or PT comes she tells them she is having chest pain and stares like she's in a trance. Needless to say they call 911 every time. She's been to the ER 5 times in the last month. There's nothing physically wrong with her but I'm not sure if her behavior is dementia related or something else.

Is there a geriatric psychiatrist in your area she can be referred to? When you ask her about these spells, what does she say? Has she been resistant to therapy in the past?
