I have been taking care of my mother for a year. I lost my job and unemployment ran out. My mother wanted to know if there are funds that are available for me since I do not have a income and I am considered her full time caregiver.
First, she would have to be so disabled that she cannot dress herself, bathe herself or feed herself. Then she would need to sign up for Medicaid. If she needs in home help Medicaid will decide how many hours she needs. In most states, the care is provided through an agency, not by someone living with her.
