My deceased father was WWII veteran. My 80 yr old mom did not receive any of my dad's benefits when he passed away because they said my dad's death was not "service connected". (He died as a result of 3rd degree burns @ the VA hospital he was in at the time because he had had a stroke).
My mom currently has Medicare & Medicaid.
No other assets except her home which also has a reverse mortgage on it.
She is currently in a rehab facility which from what I understand Medicare pays for 21 or 100 days, after that Medicaid pays or she may have to be transferred to a skilled nursing facility that accepts Medicaid.
Would my mom be able to go a Veteran run nursing home because she is the widow of a veteran (my dad)?
