Can I be a live-in for my Mother and still get pay for it?

Like take of cleaning and cooking, running errands doing different things for her.

Is your mother eligible for in-home care under some program? For example, say she is on Medicaid and has been evaluated and approved for 28 hours of help per week. In many states that aid could come from a relative, who would be paid the same as a stranger.

I have never heard of a program that pays for 24 in-home help, or a live-in caregiver. That is because in those cases it is usually more economical to place the person in a care center.

So, Julie, I think we need to know if your mother is on such a program, or if she is eligible to be, and what state you are in, to give specific answers.
