Are there specialty facilities for Alzheimer's with severe behavioral dist.?

I am a social worker and have a young (65ish) female who is ambulatory, tall, nonverbal and can be very combative. Looking for a specialty facility in the South Carolina, NC, Georgia area. Private Funds available.

Having a geriatric psych and psych nurse at the facility makes a huge difference. They can help evaluate meds. My mom was put on Risperidone for combativeness, paranoia, suspicion, and anger. It helped. And being in a secure unit also helped, as she was an elopement risk.

I found another place that specifically treats those with dementia who are combative. Longleaf Hospital, Wilson, NC. I have no affiliation with any of these places.

I might check with Duke Medical Center, Durham, NC and Cherry Hospital, Goldsboro, NC. They may be able to conduct an evaluation and recommend a placement.
