Your best bet would be to ask the nursing home what they do with there is a dental problem. They should have a van who takes patients to the dentist or doctor. If they don't, look in the phone book and find a dentist who let you make an appointment for him and explain the situation. You may have to either get a taxi or someone to help you get him to the dentist. If he's using a G-tube, he's not able to chew so to minimize the pain and cost, you can have them pulled. At least he will be out of pain and if he ever gets to the point of being able to do away with the G-tube, he can always get dentures later.

Vero, i can understand how frustrating that would be but it would be very difficult for a dentist to bring all his equipment to the nursing homes as a lot of what a dentist uses isn't portable. If Dad-in-law's teeth are rotting, best to have them pulled as fixing them would be almost impossible to do :(

The facility doesn't have a dentist who visits regularly? Most NHs do. Ask the social worker.
