Kalicricket: Is he self medicating? If so, get him to a Reformers Unanimous meeting held at churches worldwide. Go to Reform U.com.

Hopefully you can reduce his medication.

How is his blood sugar? Some people show brain disorder improvement by lowering their blood sugar through the ketogenic diet. If it is possible, consider lowering his carbohydrates (sugars and starches), increasing his fiber (include salad greens and low-glycemic vegetables), and increasing his quality fats. Quality fats are natural (not made in a laboratory), such as butter, olive oil, coconut oil, and even the fat on unprocessed, natural meats.

I agree, u need to talk to the doctor who prescribed the med. If u don't get anywhere with him, take him to a neurologist to have him evaluated.

What kind of doctor is doing the diagnosing? Can you take him to see a neurologist? I would imagine that dementia is difficult to diagnose in an adult the Down Syndrome and I wouldn't just take the group ho ' s word for it.

Does he have a case worker? Can you call him/her tomorrow and discuss this?
