Where is the training given to be a volunteer for hospice?

I went through hospice training about a year ago. Be aware, they will most likely require fingerprints and background check and TB testing. ( in mi anyway) The hospice organizations are usually based in large cities with satellite offices around a large area. There can big be differences between non profit and for profit groups. Go with the non profit so you're not donating free services to enhance the corporate profits of big medical.

I'm glad I saw the process through. The administrators and volunteers I work with are wonderful folks. I do companionship and respite care visits. Some people do music, spiritual or grief counseling. Check it out. They always need help.

I would call up your local hospice organizations and ask. I'm sure each organization does its own training.
