My husband with Alzheimer's is refusing to shave. Any suggestions?

He thinks it's too dangerous. And won't let a barber do it. This has been coming on for a couple of weeks. I thought I had him talked into letting a barber shave him, but he won't do that, either. He's 84 and looks grizzly. Don't know how long he'll go, but I hate to think of him with a long, gray beard!

Pick and choose your battles. Give up on the battles you can't win. Maybe once a beard starts growing in it'll itch and he'll want to shave again.

Tell him to at least trim it or you are taking him to a dog groomer.

He's 84, let him grow a beard. Maybe he will get tired of it after a while. Is he on blood thinners, by chance?

One of my neighbors [early 60's] when he retired couple years ago decided to not only grow a beard but also let his hair get long enough to put it in a ponytail.... he's happy as a lark no longer being under a corporate dress code :)
