My SNAP has been cut to $60 a month. Where can I get help?

I am 71 and blind from birth. I live with a friend who is writing. He can't feed me on that. What should I do? My rent is $625.00 a month incl all services. My income is $850.00 where can I get help?

Are you in subsidized housing? If not, have your friend check it out. It might save you a lot on rent.

To add to Freqflyer's outstanding list: Try Catholic Charities (you need not be Catholic); American Red Cross emergency services; Suntopia organization; And the NY State office of Aging. several churches in your area have food pantries and that will help stretch your food budget.

If you live in the States, see if you qualifiy for Medicaid. Also contact your county agency on aging for programs such as Case Management, Meals on Wheels, Adult Day Care, housing, care referrals, etc,... go to the website link below.... click on your State.... now click on the city/county. https://www.agingcare.com/local/Area-Agency-on-Aging
