I am the caregiver for my Mom and I have to go away for three weeks. What do I do?

I'm trying to find a place to leave her until I get back and have had.

If you have the finances to cover it, many Assisted living facilities (including memory care ones) take residents for a month as respite care. Have you called them?

They will be able to provide you information on respite available from other sources to find care for your mom.

This seems to be an unmet need. People are either full time in a care facility or have full time care at home. One or the other. There's no dementia "camp".

It might be time to find a full time residential care for mom. More detail in your profile or description might help us understand the situation.

I spoke with the agency they offer only 8 hrs a week in home care and they only offer overnight care not continuous for three weeks. I am still looking. Very tired.

I recently read about overnight care in the New York City area. Call your Agency on Aging for assistance in finding someplace where she will be cared for.
