How do I get paid to be his caregiver?

I am a caregiver for my husband who is 75. I am not of legal retirement age and currently unemployed. What forms do I fill out. I have all legal documents signed and notarized. He had a stroke, and I am told it will take some time and work to get him on his feet again.

I need to ask, are you a nurse or a CNA? If so, you could try to get hired by a company that employs care takers. But, you would probably be paying more, than you would make. And I realize all of that would be a hassle.

Is your husband unable to pay you?

Some people mention a program in CA. that offers some financial relief. Up in the right hand corner, put in the words "getting paid." That search will give you all of the posts on this subject, as it is asked several times a week.
