Where to find someone to come in and give my father-in-law (95) a shower once or twice a week?

Willing to pay for 2 hrs/week. He has minor issues with mobility, uses a walker. Recently, started having issues with bladder incontinence.

Ask your father's primary care physician or internist to script for home care. An RN will do an assessment and can order a home health aide. If scripted for in this way, Medicare will pay for it.

Alternately, you could contact various home health care companies in your area, get estimates, and go from there. It's advisable if you can work it out to interview the health aide before to make sure that he/she and your father are compatible.

Do you have shower chairs so your FIL can sit down to get into the tub/shower and remain seated while being showered? Grab bars are also a necessity.

In the meantime, we're trying something different with the use of no rinse shampoos. Our local hospital is now using them so patients don't have to stand in the shower. It's not quite the same as the refreshing feeling of the pulsating shower on one's skin, but it did leave me feeling clean.

Good luck!
