Mom feels unsafe in a Jewish (culturally), established residence for assisted living with memory care component. Advice?

I am currently struggling with my mom;s current move to a brand new facility with no policy, procedures, staff, nursing protocols., etc, and feel she is unsafe.

Kim, as the others have said, not sure what your question is. Did you use a referral service, like A Place for Mom? They would be able to find you a more established place. But Assisted Living places are licensed by your state; there are certainly policies in place, by law. Who have you met with who is giving you this impression of chaos? You should be speaking with the Director of Nursing.

One thing I would caution; if it's your mom, with dementia, who is reporting chaos, please take it with a grain of salt. Meet with staff yourself. And let us know how it's going, we learn from each other.

Who's decision was it to move her there? Who has Mom's POA? Have you visited the facility? How long has Mom been there. What are you concerned about, specifically? When new facilities open often times there is a breaking in period to reach appropriate staffing levels and services that they offer. Though I would hope that this is a short period of time.
