Has anyone dealt with agencies that charge you to complete VA Aid & Attendance application for a surviving spouse?

Is this a scam?

Hi terryjack1. I will definitely do that! I'm thankful to you all for saving me a lot of upfront money!!!

Contact your local VA office or your area agency on aging, they have someone there that can assist for free.

Sounds great, Runragged! Thanks so much for the information. Very helpful. God bless you all!

Actually, it depends. There are attorneys who assist with VA disability and probably pension issues as well.

Instead of doing that or calling the VA directly, try contacting the VFW, Disabled American Veterans, Americal Legion, or a group like that for assistance. If your LO was the member of one of these or something like it, that's where we'd start. As an alternative, counties have veterans offices that provide assistance as well.

Yes it is a scam. Call the VA, they have free benefits consultants.
