Wife falls down when she gets out of bed. She can't remember to pull the cord so someone can come help her. Advice?

Wife has Alzheimer's for 10 years probably in stage 6.

If she is using a standard bed there are assit bars available. My mom was having trouble getting in and out of bed. I found a simple L shaped grab bar. Lower part of L slips between box springs and the mattress and other part is vertical and sticks up about 16 inches. It can be placed anywhere along the bed. It has been a great help for my mom. Home medical supply stores usually stock different sizes and styles. Easy to install, no tools needed.

1 WIFE IS IN MEMORY CARE.
2 BED ALARM DOES NOT WORK, IT GOES OFF WHEN SHE GETS OUT OF BED AND FALLS. IT IS ILLEGAL TO RESTRICT PATIENTS.
THANKS FOR YOUR ANSWERS

I believe there is a bed alarm. Also, I know that they no longer raise the sides on the bed, because patients were crawling over them, but it might be worth a try.

Some people have put the mattresses on the floor.

Sounds like she should be in a memory care unit.
