Are there Special Care Units that will accept both the spouse/significant other and the Alzheimer's patient?

Are there facilities that will take both Alzheimer's patient and spouse/significant other? My mother is 83 and has Alzheimer's. My father is 85 and still of sound mind but cannot live alone as he is fragile. We would like very much to keep them together and we are quickly nearing the time they both will need placement.

I guess it depends upon financial resources. The assisted living places near me do have double rooms. And as long as your Mom is not a wanderer, she could stay in regular AL. That would be private pay for each! This would assure meals, clean rooms medications etc.

Try to find a facility that offers assisted living for mom and memory care on the same site for Dad. Even if they both end up in memory care, they will not be in the same room, just near each other.
