What do you tell your loved one with Alzheimer's and lives with you, says "I won't to go home"?

Or "come on you taking me home".

This request is a common theme for ALZ/dementia seniors. Typically, the senior is thinking of their childhood home. You might try to divert their attention. The trained aides at the memory care center I am familiar with would often tell the person -- there is a big traffic jam on the road and the bus is very delayed. We will come and get you when the bus is near here --- 'now let's see what is happening (divert). To my surprise, it usually worked!
