Is your mother on disability? Medicaid? If she is on any program now, start by contacting her case worker and ask for a needs assessment update and for advice about finances.

If mother is not on any financial aid programs now, look into what she might be eligible for. VA benefits? Medicaid? A county program of some type? Start by calling your state's Agency on Aging.
