Not sure what any of us can help you with. You might try contacting the charities and churches in Tucson to see if there might be some short term assistance there. SunTran has economy fares you could probably qualify for. I believe those apartments accept Section 8 payments, so you might apply for housing assistance that will help you in the future with your rent payments. That will allow your SS to go a little further. Ask your friends or family to give you a short term loan so that you can reload some minutes onto your phone. Maybe that can be a start. Sounds like whoever you are caring for in independent living is better off than you are. I assume that your rent is paid for this month. I don't know what to say. Maybe someone else has an answer.
