Can I get a doctor to come to my home?

I live in Chicago it's very hard for me to get around due to nerve damage in my back. In April or May of this year I had a doctor that was coming to my home but there company went out of business and my doctor now works at U of C. Now no one is coming to see me. I'm 69y I have Nerve damage in my back and it's really hard for me to get around .I'm not on any Med's beside the pain med I take for my back. it's getting really hard for me to get around these days so I was praying that it would be somehow possible for me to get a doctor back to the house again. I'm on SSI and I also have Medicare Blue cross Blue shell . would it be possible for me to get a doctor to come back to my home?

My folks live in West Michigan and there is a new service there that has docs and nurses who make house calls. Why don't you do a google search for a similar service in your area of Chicago. I know Chicago is a big place and a service out of, say, Lincolnshire, may not go to Naperville, for example.

Start calling around to geriatricians in your area. Some of the practices here have docs and nurse practitioners that make house calls. Another idea, call assisted living facilities in your area to ask what doctors come in regularly. My Mom's doc left a large practice to start on his own so he could do house calls. He even opened an office in a facility so he has space to see a large number of patients there.
