Mom hardly goes to the bathroom and has had a bed wetting accident, ew times. Any advice?

I said you need to go. I,said you, haven't been in 7 hrs. She has dementia. My sis has her in the day.I,have her the rest of the time.
Health,great for 90.Iam,sure she is,urinating,cause No one cannot pas urine, unless condition warrants it& cath. used? It,is in her head?

Nursing homes will toilet dementia patients every two hours during the day to prevent diaper rash. At 90, she may be leaking continuously, and can't feel it at all. They also use the wet-proof chux pads on the bed at night. My MIL doesn't feel it, and can't feel whether or not the pad is wet. Never take their word for it when they say they are dry.

Also,someone on here talked about Molicare super briefs. I looked up the website and they seem great for your elder one for nighttime, supposed to be able to hold 1500cc of liquid. I didn't price them but if you just used them for nighttime maybe the cost wouldn't be so bad and help the caregiver on cleanup.

I had a patient that I would put on the bedpan on a set schedule, I tried to be frequent about it. Even when she was on the bedpan she still asked for the bedpan, her mental ability was so far gone, she constantly asked for the bedpan even if she had just gone and I had cleaned her, and no she didn't have a UTI,it was just her mental ability regarding bladder control was just gone.

My cousin, who had significant dementia, was having accidents while using pads. The facility put her in pull ups and she doing fine with them. They take her to the toilet on a set schedule and encourage her to go. Often that works. Other times she tells them when she has to go. Still, at night, she has the pull ups on and it keeps her bed dry.
