My Mom has be in rebound and return home care for almost 100 days. How can we get benefits for her to stay in rehab?

She is 78 years old and on medicare. The home visit today did not go well and they say she cannot come home after those 100 days are up? We cannot afford out of pocket.

ba8alou is right. You need to apply for Medicaid on your mom's behalf. The social worker at the facility should have information on how to get started. The facility should let your mom stay as long as she's going through the Medicaid process but it can take months to get approved. In the meantime you'll have to turn over all of mom's income to the facility each month to pay for her board and care.

You need to apply for Medicaid on her behalf. Ask the business office at the rehab to walk you through the process.
