My husband is in a nursing home and I had to apply for long term Medicaid. Any advice?

I have to pay 3275.96 and I get 737 a month. But the problem is when I pay the nursing home I am only able to pay myself only 533 due to they gave me the figures before taxes so their isn't enough for me to write myself a ck out of the miller trust I am the one that takes care of his money. DHS also wanted me to put the money in this month but he is self pay with ins until Dec. them I start paying 5 days in Nov so the money has to be in by the last of Dec which it will. I have to pay Nov by Dec 10 for the 5 days then he will be on long term Medicaid why cant I pay myself before Medicaid it just doesn't Please help

Seeing the lawyer is a very good idea. I meant a conservator for hubby, not you. Let someone else deal with all the paperwork and bills for hubby.

charchar, maybe a conservator would be a good idea. Someone else who can worry over all the details for you.
