Are there financial resources available to offset recreation program fees for a disabled person?

My daughter, Amy B., is 37 years old and has Down Syndrome. She would like to sign up for Portland Park Bureau art and cooking classes other activities but has no budget for these. She has participated in water aerobics classes at Dishman Community Center pool for years on a scholarship and has most appreciated this help.

Hi Mimi ...
Google park discounts for disabled adults ... also look for Access Passes and see if they are available in your state ... If they are you will get a deep discount for a lot of things with that ... Also look into state grants possibly through OMRDD ... again if available in your state ...

Not sure where you are, but here in NY there are both residential and day programs for the developmentally disabled. Check your county office for the disabled for a list of free programs, some even have transportation.
