My husband was in the Army 1958 thru 1961. What veterans benefits is he entitled to now that he has Dementia/Alzheimer's?

Does anyone know What veterans are entitled to enough thou they did not serve during any wartime. Also, do I as his wife/ caregiver get any financial compensation?

He was in Okinawa. He said while he was there he heard different things coming out of Vietnam.

1961 would count as wartime if he was in Vietnam

im enrolled in va healthcare and have been for 15 years . they accept me because my construction income is so flaky but people who make a better living get health care at the va too, they just have more copay . that benefit alone is worth a fortune to me .

Not very much if it was not wartime. Go to the Money and Legal tab and click on Veterans Assistance.
