Where do I look to find a sitter for my Mom once a week to give me a day off?

Willing to pay fair wage. She just needs someone with her due to mobility issues. Her mind is fib=ne.

I forgot to add that some Assisted Living facilities have Private Sitters that come in to visit with the residents. (They are private paid by the resident or family.) They may be able to give you the names of some that come to there facility to sit with residents. They may also have a long term relationship with the sitter, which is assuring.

I once contacted the county's Senior Center. They had a list they provided along with the person's credentials. You still have to follow up and check their references and confirm they have the certifications they lists, such as CPR, etc. I found a couple I considered using, but they were in high demand. It's not inexpensive either.

go to the box "Find Housing And Care", enter her zipcode or just Greenwood SC, and click on home care. Always get complete ID on anyone you hire and do a background check. If they are driving mom around, be sure they have a license and proper insurance. Take their picture with your cell phone or camera.
