Nursing home stopped Mom's therapy and no one told me. Who should I speak to besides the social worker?

Actually a SW or care manager is the first person to talk to, and they are required to meet with you and go over a plan of care every so often. They don't always, because it takes time and effort and a lot of people aren't interested enough to bother...let them know you are not one of those people. She may not have made progress in therapy, in which case even with an RX it won't continue, but periodic re-evals can be requested. Some places will substitute an exercise or daily walking program designed by therapists but carried out by nurses or aides that will be helpful instead too.

PT and OT are ordered by Mom's MD, so start there. The NH just follows the written orders of the doctor.

I would go directly to the top of the administration chain of command.

It is possible that someone in therapy made the determination that your mother could not progress any further, but you're right - you should have been advised of that, unless there are other caregivers involved and they were told instead.

I'd be furious too!
