Is there compensation for missed work for caregivers?

I am in the position of needing to use FMLA for some of my Moms care. None of this time is begrudged. I love her and this is what she needs. I am so lucky I have FMLA but do lose 1-2 days of wages every couple of weeks. Is there a way to be compensated for the time off from work?

I use my PTO when I need to have off for Dad's care, but I stock it up so I don't lose any $$ .I am lucky I don;t get sick often, or take long vacations. So i keep several weeks of leave in the PTO bank. God bless FMLA !! Ithink this is what ISmiani is saying?

Does your mother have the funds to pay you? She would obviously have to pay someone. If you are POA, check your papers to see if it allows you to be paid. Can family members pitch in?

If you search on this site, for your question, you will see that it is asked a few times, a week. Sometimes there is some good advice on the other threads.

You can take vacation concurrently. This is what my prior employer used to try to get managers to advise employees. Personally, I would prefer to take vacation first and unpaid FMLA, unpaid, as a last choice
