Mom has Alzheimer's and running out of money living at an AL. Could I get financial help if I took care of her?

Mom isn't ready to go too a nursing home or memory care. My husband and I are willing to take care of her, but financially it would be hard. I was told through Medicare, I could get help for taking care of her. Do you have any information on that please?

Thank you for your answer. We had applied for VA, hoping to get an answer before she started getting low on money. It's a very slow process here. I didn't realize you could get help if they lived in your home.

We were able to get help from the VA since mom was married to a WWII veteran. That made up the difference, plus we rented her house to help pay for ALF. Something to look into. See va.gov.
