What can I do about the VA cutting off my Mom's aid and attendance benefits?

What can I do about the VA cutting my mothers benefits. My mom has disabled for over 6 years néeding assistance with everyday living. Recently, the VA said due to my mom living in an category of independent living she has to pay back every dime they gave her as she didn't qualify for the aid and attendance. We gave them the necessary backup to support that we paid for caregivers while living at the IL, but they won't accept this. She is living in board and care and cannot continue to pay her board and will be homeless.

You only get VA aid and attendance if the patient requires assistance with daily living. Her MD has to substantiate this on a 2680 form. The most common reason for denial is a poorly filled out 2680. So start by looking at what the MD wrote, I'll bet he checked the wrong boxes or didn't give the details.
