Mum was eating well until recently she refused to swallow her food at times. Why?

SueJane, sorry for what you and Mum are going through, but you may want to bring this to medical attention, I could be inevitable progression of her underlying problems, but she might have something more reversible like discomfort swallowing for GI reasons or small seizures that aren't otherwise obvious.
