Can you help me find a place that gives free or reduced price nutrition supplement drink?

My 91 year old mother-in-law a very little income. She is suffering from congestive heart failure and has no appetite resulting in weight lose. Her doctor is very concerned about her weight and wants her to drink a Nutrition Supplement which she just cant afford. Your assistance will be greatly appreciated.

Sometimes if you contact the company directly they can help you. They may be able to send you free coupons. Also if there are any medications her doctor may have samples of that can help ans save money too.

Is she ill enough for hospice, they may be able to supply it. Can you get her to drink flavored milk mixed with whey powder. That is a cheaper way to give the nutrition. Can you also make something nutritious using a blender. Liquids at room temperature are often easier for older folks to drink.

A person who is low income should qualify for EBT support. I believe nutritional supplements can be purchased with that. Look into that benefit through your county.

If she is on Medicaid, her MD can order it. Talk to him and the caseworker.

I'm sorry I have no idea but I'll give you a giggle. A few years ago when I took my mother to the doc he said "You need some Boost". Being hard of hearing her response was "Booze? What kind of booze?", Still makes me chuckle.
