My Alz Mom has stopped eating and is now drinking LOTS of fluid in the NH. Is this typical?

She is on Ensure for nutrition and drinks large amounts of milk, juice, and water, but she doesn't seem interested in solid food. Has anyone else seen this with their loved one?

Luckily I already know she wouldn't want a feeding tube. We had those discussions a long time ago.

Yes, it becomes difficult for them to swallow. Talk to the MD. Find out from Mom if she does or does not want a feeding tube when the time comes.
