I was a HCA in WA state I would like to know what I need to do to get my certificate of training up to date?

I have a friend that could really use my training and help it would be a live in situation. I need to know what to do to get current with my certifications and what my friend needs to do so that when i return to california I can be ready to takecare of my elderly friend he feels as if no one can help him I told him how I could help and he is very interested in finding out what we need to do to quailfy him for the help he so desperatly needs.
