Mom's addicted to anti anxiety meds and we don't know where to go. No help from doctors or hospitals. What can we do?

she has frequent visits to hospitals when we try to control meds.

I found this link: http://nihseniorhealth.gov/drugabuse/treatingsubstanceabuse/01.html

Look for a geriatrician or geriatric psychiatrist for help. Good luck.

Way to go Capt. I bet you have already got the design worked out! I told my co-workers when I was working at hospice that when it was my turn I wanted one of those big bottles of liquid Morphine

Sorry can't answer this without more information about your Mom's state of health, age, mental status, independence and anything else you can think of. An addiction can't just be stopped by taking away the pills. If someone has an anxiety disorder they need the medication end of story. This needs an intervention and advice from a medical professional. Do you know what she is taking and the dosage we can at least tell you if that would be a reasonable prescription. get back and we can help with the background info.
