I work and have someone who cares for my husband while I'm at work. I cannot do this anymore. Is there a social worker?

can I get someone from the state to help, a social worker?

Yes, call the Area Agency on Aging, part of the Council of Governments in your area. They should be able to offer you all sorts of sources for assistance. Are you wanting to quit your job to care for your husband or have him live in a facility? I care for my mom 24/7 aside from about 30 hours a week at an adult care center that is focused on the needs of those with dementia.

There are many companies that perform geriatric assessments and will determine what your husband's needs are. They will also develop a plan of care and assist in finding an appropriate placement if that is what you need to do.
