I would like to make application for a senior consumer to get Meals on Wheels. What is the process?

I'd suggest you contact your Area on Aging to see what is available in your city.
Up in the blue blocks on this site is CAREGIVER SUPPORT. Go to that section and there is a drop down list for Area on Aging. Call the office in your city.

All counties in the US are divided into state regional planning bodies called Area Councils of Governments (COG's) and they get funding to do the Area on Aging programs, health screening programs, Meals on Wheels etc. It is your tax $$ at work so take advantage of it!

For my mom, she was on 3 different senior meal programs when she was still living at her house: 2 were church run senior day care in which they did lunch and an activity once a week and the cost was maybe $ 2.00. Neither of the churches were her church either. One program had a grant so they had a van to pick her up. For Meals, she just filled out a card which was sent to all homeowners who had a 65+ exemption. There was no financial qualifying and it was about $ 3.00 a meal and they provided a cooler with freezer bags she could set outside her kitchen door if she wasn't home for delivery.

Google to see if your city has an OASIS center. If so, they are a "hub" for all sorts of senior resources & programs too.
