How do I get help for a neighbor living alone with no family support?

My neighbor cannot do her daily care, has a dog and 2 cats and due to an injury is using a cane and walker. She has no family support. The neighbors have been trying to help, but she needs more help than we can give. She needs daily assistance.

I'm assuming this is an elderly person and that the injury will continue to be an issue. It's very kind of you and your neighbors to try to help, but you have no power to do some things that need tending to. Call your local Social Services and ask them to do a welfare check. Social Services should be able to determine what the next best thing is for this person or if he or she can recover.
You are a wonderful example of a good neighbor. If this person goes to a nursing home, maybe you could visit to help with the transition.
Take care,
Carol
