Are there centers where a person w/ Parkinson's & Dementia can go to socialize, etc. while I do errands or appointments?

EXPERT Carol Bradley Bursack, CDSGF Aug 2013
That's what adult day care centers are for. They are a marvelous option for people with needs like you have, and as you say, your husband would have a chance to have more peer socialization. Please look into what your community has to offer.

Some ADCs are connected to nursing homes and others are freestanding. Some are actually run out of residential homes (these, of course are smaller groups).
Good luck to you. It's wonderful that you recognize this need for both of you.

I need to have some time to do errands or keep appointments. My husband would benefit from joining a group for the sociablity rather than be home while I have to out.

In Indianapolis there is an ADC Called Still Waters through the Methodist Church. Some churches have partnerships with ADC's as well.

In my town the adult daycare ctr is at the local Senior Ctr which covers many of our local communities.. It's $30 for a 9-5 day.. You choose what days you want..I wish my Mom would go but she refuses...
