How important is it to find a nursing home with a good Activities Department?

My FIL lives in a memory care unit (private pay, not NH), but I would guess the activities are just as important. I can tell you that I absolutely love the activities director. She is wonderful with the residents and really keeps them happy. They play all sorts of games there, with a lot to help with memory. She is patient and enthusiastic. I just love watching her work with the residents. She makes their days so much more fun.
