Dad's going into assisted living and he wants to take everything he owns. He won't need these things nor is there room. What do I do?

Has your dad been to the apartment to see how much living space he will have. When we moved mom to AL she had a one bedroom apartment. In the bedroom, we brought her full size bed, dresser, one night stand and a glider/rocker with ottoman. The living room had her full size couch, coffee table and 2 end tables, a tv stand. We purchased a small dinette from target w/2 chairs. It was a little cramped. My sister wanted to bring everything over to the apartment too. This AL also has villas...I don't know how big the living space is but I am sure it is very pricey.

Take one load and then, wait. He needs to settle in. Assure him that everything is at home and he can go see, if he needs to. (If true.)

You take his favorite pieces of furniture, pictures, prints, bedding and personal affects and make his new room very comfortable for him.
