My MIL has begun growling when she isn't talking. She is also in a wheelchair and she stomps her feet for no apparent reason. Is this another stage of dementia? She has been diagnosed with dementia.

My MIL with vascular dementia growled also. Particularly when she was in a more demented zone. When she was doing her "dementia gnome" routine she growled pretty much nonstop. She would pick up things and put them away in odd places, break things by accident, light candles, wrap items up and then put them away in odd places, check and recheck things like her seatbelt, her hands would wander like they had minds of their own. She would leave her room, passing her own bathroom, and look for a bathroom down the hall. Sometimes she would take her clothes out of her closet and go hang them in other people's closets.

She once removed both of her faucet handles from her sink when she was in the gnome zone.

The fascination with candles was scary, she did start one fire in her home. The number of candles she had been buying was amazing, there were candles everywhere in her home. We were lucky that she wasn't injured.
