My Mom is mad at me and thinks I hate her because I don't want her to drive any more. How do folks cope with this?

Spend a little extra time with her if you can. I agree with the other poster. She will get over it but some extra TLC may be in order. Nobody likes the idea of losing independence and gets mad at those who might think they've lost their capacity.

She will get over it. Really. What I recommend is getting a schedule together where you can take her out to her favorite spots and for drives. Mom loved this - and we enjoyed spending quality time together. Blessings.
