Mom's having a brain shunt put in to offset NPH anyone have any experience with this?

Sosandi, I don't have any experience with NPH. I am writing to let you know that I read your post & am praying for your mom & you. I hope others who have dealt with the situation you & your mom are facing do respond to your request.

The only experience I have has to do with the shunt, and not with NPH. When my oldest son was two years old, he had astrocytoma carcinoma, and this required surgery for the removal of the tumor. During his recovery, he had to have a shunt for about 10 days, as the surgery, itself, I suppose, may have caused some swelling. It seemed pretty painless to him, but it was hard to keep a 2 year old down, and keep him still enough to not disturb the drain. He wasn't even given anything for pain, as they needed to be able to access his vitals properly.
